Koenigleopold – Aalfang Remixed 2026 – out now

There was quite a stir in 2014, when the avant-garde pop duo Koenigleopold mentioned a certain Styrian butcher by name – purely by chance. Nevertheless, the man felt insulted and sued for exorbitant sums. It all worked out in the end; they received plenty of media attention, the duo filled numerous concerts with their fantastic live sets – each one an event – and then moved on to other projects. They’re now active again as Koeniglollipop. Those were the days when such news was still worthy of the front page. Ah.

And there also was a Radio FM4 Soundpark remix contest, which Bergmann won with his dubstep burner “Schnelles Geld”. However, his track featured material from different songs by the band and omitted the iconic “Holt, holt, holt die Goschn”-refrain that made Koenigleopold famous. The remix of the actual hit was therefore produced by the in-house sound tinkerer Mikka Blank. Now the single is available in a freshly remastered version, with a new instrumental version of “Hole Dig Ocean” – as with the other re-releases, this comes as a Bandcamp-exclusive.
